Highly scented, award-winning Wisteria brachybotrys Shiro-Kapitan is a gorgeous climber with flowers of great beauty. It produces masses of hanging sprays up to 15cm long of fragrant, pea-like snow-white flowers with a prominent yellow spot. Shiro-Kapitan bursts into flower in spring and early summer, with the summer blooms more pinkish in bud. New foliage arrives a very pale yellow-green providing a beautiful soft contrast to the pure white blooms. Wonderful grown over a dead tree trunk, the wisteria looks stunning on fences, verandahs, pergolas, or as a weeping standard on a very strong pole and frame. Prune lightly after flowering and again in Autumn if required to shape as a standard. Please note: it is toxic to cats, dogs, and horses.
