The Chinese Elm is a large, hardy, fast-growing, attractive semi-deciduous tree with a broad vase-shaped habit and pendulous branches. It has attractive small dark green glossy leaves with serrated edges that change to yellow in autumn and will hold on to the soft arching branches until late winter. It has lovely mottled bark with tones of dark grey, reddish brown, orange, and cream. Is considered fire retardant and is suited to parks, street and paddock plantings or as a feature tree in larger gardens.
