Thymus serpyllum Albus, or Creeping White Thyme is a low-growing and strongly scented perennial with dense foliage and a compact growth habit. One of the most intriguing modern uses of creeping thyme is as a lawn substitute. Creeping White thyme helps to support native bees thanks to its prolific nectar-rich flowers and its ability to withstand light foot traffic. It is a beautiful Mediterranean herb suited to rockeries, border edges and container gardens, and it can even thrive in balcony gardens. Thyme can be used at all stages of cooking: early for strong flavour in soups and casseroles, late for stir fries and salads or as a garnish for any savoury dish.

Soil: Well-drained soil.
Conditions: Full sun to part shade. Adaptable to most Australian climates.
