Taxus baccata fastigiata, commonly called Irish Yew, is a dense, upright, evergreen shrub of columnar habit when immature, becoming more conical as the shrub matures. The conifer displays yellow to lime-green needles with the female cultivar produces coral-red seed-bearing cones. The Irish Yew is a very traditional tree often used for formal entrances and avenues.
Soil: Will tolerate most soils but likes a well-drained loam.
Conditions: Comfortable in any position in the garden. Once established will put up with harsh conditions, including drought.
