Coast, or Californian, Redwood is a spectacular long-lived evergreen tree that is famous worldwide for being the tallest tree - reaching heights of 115m in the wild. Under cultivation, the coastal redwood will reach 30m. The redwood is monoecious with pollen and seed cones being produced on the same plant, and it has a lovely straight growth. Due to its immense size, plant the redwoods 8-10m apart. Suited to large parks and gardens or as a bonsai specimen.
