Arthur Bedford is a magnificent rhododendron displaying large trusses of open, funnel-shaped flowers coloured mauve to lavender blue with ruffled edges. A distinctive dark blotch of royal purple decorates the throat of each bloom. A vigorous plant, it is ideal as a screen with its dense, dark, glossy leaves.

Soil: Requires well-drained, humus-rich, acidic soil.
Conditions: Sunny position but prefers dappled shade. Frost and coastal tolerant.
