Punica granatum Nana, or the Dwarf Pomegranate, is a semi-deciduous ornamental shrub with light green, shiny foliage and large, funnel-shaped red/orange flowers in spring and summer. The vivid flowers are followed by bright orange-red ornamental fruit resembling apples. While the dwarf pomegranate fruit is edible, it lacks both the size and sweet flavour offered by the standard pomegranate. A light trim will keep it tidy and can be cut as a hedge if desired. Ideal for rockeries, shrubberies, pots and planters.
Soil: Deep, well-drained soil.
Conditions: Full sun. The dwarf pomegranate requires dry conditions to allow the fruit to ripen. Thrives in hot, dry summer areas.
Size: Height 1.5m x width 1.5m
