The beautiful Kanzan Japanese Flowering Cherry (Prunus serrulata Kanzan) is a pink ornamental flowering cherry from Japan. It is also known as 'Sekiyama'. In spring, it produces a profusion of double, rich-pink flowers held in pendant clusters. The creased leaves, arriving after the flowers, feature toothed edges and emerge as a bronze colour, changing to green as they mature. The glorious colour array continues with the foliage changing to burnished reds and oranges with hints of yellows in autumn. Ideal as an ornamental tree, shade tree, specimen tree, avenue tree, and cut flowers for vase arrangements.
