Hass avocados are the most popularly produced avocado variety, yielding prolific crops of large, green fruits that have a creamy, nutty flavour. The Hass avocado is a dense evergreen tree with glossy, leathery leaves and produces its delicious fruit from September to January. The avocado is technically self-pollinating and it is recommended to plant a Type-A avocado ( Haas) and Type-B avocado ( Bacon and Sharwil) together to increase the size of the harvest, as they have opposite opening cycles. The Hass can be kept in a container as a small tree or planted in the ground where it will become a magnificent specimen tree.
