Pennisetum alopecuroides (PA300) PBR Nafray is a non-invasive, mid-sized, compact, tussock grass with fine green foliage. From summer through to autumn, cream-to-purple-tinged foxtail-like, feathery flowers are displayed en masse within and above the foliage. Nafray is an ideal plant for specimen or mass plantings in residential or commercial gardens, or for erosion control and swathe plantings on roadsides or in parks. Reduce to a 1/3 size in late winter/early spring to remove old foliage and spent flowers, and fertilise with a controlled release fertiliser.
Soil: Prefers loam, clay loam and light clay soils and will grow in moist to wet soils
Conditions: Full sun to half-shade. Best suited to protected coastal positions. Will also grow inland but requires protection from hot, drying, westerly winds and may burn off with frost.
