Hakea victoria, or Royal Hakea, is a striking Australian native shrub, showcasing leathery, veined leaves in eye-catching patterns of green, yellow, and red. Intermittent clusters of insignificant creamy-white flowers appear, adding a contrast to its vivid leaves, which are its most defining trait. It is best in less humid areas where it develops the best foliage colour. This fantastic feature plant makes a superb pot specimen or feature plant in a garden bed. It is recommended that Native Plant Potting Mix is used as these plants do not tolerate Phosphorus well.
Soil: Well-drained, almost sandy soils
Conditions: Full sun to light shade. This Hakea is not suited to areas where humidity can be an issue as plants will suffer from dieback growing in the northernmost parts of Australia.
