Ginkgo balboa, or the Maidenhair Tree, is a very slow-growing and long-lived, deciduous tree with a large and elegant habit. This ancient species is renowned for its unusual fan-shaped leaves that are a soft green, changing to a spectacular clear yellow in autumn. Short catkins can be produced followed by yellow fruit on the female trees - but only after the tree has reached thirty-fifty years in age. It is a beautiful specimen tree for parks and large gardens.
