Eucalyptus pauciflora – the iconic Australian Snow Gum - is a species of mallee tree with a spreading habit and beautiful twisted branches. Its smooth trunk has pale green to cream bark, with strips of brown when the bark sheds. In stark contrast, young branches are glossy and red. This species is covered in pretty white flowers in spring and summer, which is a good nectar source for birds and bees, and is followed by large gumnuts. The foliage – glossy green in colour - is used for essential oil production and has a lovely fresh scent. It makes a beautiful specimen tree, windbreak, or shade/shelter tree.
