Cymbopogon citratus, commonly known as Lemongrass, grows as a clump and produces flavoursome and aromatic, green-blue leaves that are held with a graceful arch. Lemongrass has long been used for tea, medicine and Oriental cooking.- the long blades of Lemongrass are used fresh to flavour sauces or soups and to make teas. The lighter-coloured, tender base of the stalk is cut off and used in stir-fries and other Asian dishes. Lemongrass is a popular choice for ground cover, gap filling, rockeries or mass plantings in areas of the garden that are hard to water.
