Cedrus deodara, or the Himalayan Cedar, is a hardy, tall evergreen tree of pyramidal shape with soft grey-green foliage with long weeping branches. As the plant matures, the foliage changes to a deeper green and the growth habit will become denser. The elegant evergreen conifer is perfect for a stately home or country property with plenty of room for it to grow.
Cedrus deodara is a monoecious species - it will produce both male and female flowers and cones on the same tree. Mulch to keep roots cool in summer - pruning is not required except to revitalise old plants.
Soil: Moist but well-drained loams preferably with an acidic ph. They do not tolerate waterlogging
Conditions: Full sun. Wind and frost tolerant - It prefers milder, humid climates.
Size: Height 30m x width 6m
