Queensland Bottle Tree is a magnificent, eye-catching feature tree that gets its name from the bottle-shaped swelling in the trunk. The unusual feature develops as it ages, typically starting between 5-8 years old. The swelling is used for water storage. The bell-shaped, yellow flowers usually form between October and December in clusters at the end of the branches and are surrounded by deep green foliage. Bottle trees are semi-deciduous, exceptionally hardy, and can withstand temperatures in a wide range from -8C to 50C.
