Banksia robur, the swamp banksia, is a dramatic-looking banksia with bright russet new growth, big green leaves, metallic green buds, and impressive gold-tan flower spikes. The hardy native looks good in grouped plantings, wildlife gardens, and along fence lines and driveways. Seed pods are decorative for indoor arrangements as are the banksias themselves. Prune as required to maintain compact growth. Feed with a slow-release native fertiliser during spring.
