Banksia baueri, also known as the Woolly Banksia, is aptly named as the large orange flowers develop wispy fibres as the flower ages and change into a soft, fluffy, woolly flower. Flowering through the winter months the nectar-rich flowers are valuable as a food source for local birds. Banksia will grow better if watered regularly in dry conditions. If grown in pots, ensure a potting mix for Australian Native plants is used.
