A hardy azalea, Alphonse Anderson is a medium size shrub and perfect as a mass display of flowering colour, informal hedging and suitable for pots. Prune after spring flowering to promote dense growth habit and flowering next season. Fertilise using a slow-release fertiliser such as Osmocote which is specially formulated for azaleas
Soil: Free-draining soil - lime free - and rich in organic matter. A potting mix rich with humus is ideal.
Conditions: Azaleas love dappled shade, morning and/or afternoon sun. Heat, coastal and light frost tolerant.
