Archontophoenix alexandrae, commonly known as the Alexandra Palm, King Palm or Feather Palmis, is a tall palm with a slender grey trunk covered in rings of leaf scars and enlarged at the base. It carries long, arching, elegant, mid-green fronds held as a crown on a slender trunk. In summer, cream to yellow flowers open in large sprays, followed by pinkish-red fruit. Archontophoenix alexandrae is commonly included in tropical gardens, used in avenue plantings, grown as a specimen, used to border an entranceway, or planted as a cluster for an impressive display.
