Allocasuarina littoralis Black Sheoak is an erect conical-shaped tree with dark fissured bark and fine, soft needles that make a lovely sighing noise in the wind. The male variety bears showy red flowers in spring and the female bears small spiky cones. An excellent choice for parks and farms, ideal for windbreaks and shelterbelts. The Black Sheoak has a large root system so it should not be planted near drains, paths, buildings etc.
