Adenanthos ‘Silver Streak’ is an attractive native shrub-like tree used for contrast in the landscape. This Australian native is covered in fine, ferny silver grey/green foliage giving it a 'soft' appearance and it is soft to the touch. The flowers are red and insignificant - though still bird-attracting - and it is the colour and texture of the foliage that is the feature. A useful screen plant as it is a tall and upright form of woolly bush, it can be used in cut flower arrangements, and a potted plant makes a lovely Australian native Christmas tree. Tip pruning gives the bush a great shape although pruning is not necessary. Feed in spring with low phosphorus fertiliser.
