Acacia myrtiolia Lemon Squash is an evergreen small shrub with graceful hanging branches of green leaves with contrasting bright red new growth and reddish stems. It hides its long twisted green foliage under clusters of creamy yellow flowers. This wattle flowers through winter into early spring creating a spectacular fragrant display. Acacia Lemon Squash is suitable for a wide range of climates and soils, and makes a wonderful groundcover plant for rockeries and embankments. It can be lightly pruned after flowering to encourage a more bushy growth habit.
Once established Acacias will tolerate dryness however for best results watering is required during dry periods while plants are young and actively growing.
