The small deciduous tree is highly prized for its oversized flowers - dramatic black–red buds open to incredibly eye-catching, maroon-purple fragrant flowers in spring. Perfectly suited for large containers, along pathways, or in borders. Flowering primarily in spring but may continue to bloom intermittently in the months after if moisture is sufficient.
