Cycas revoluta (also known as the Sago Palm) is a very slow-growing, primitive cycad that is often referred to as a 'living fossil'. It has dark green feathery leaves atop a rugged trunk.
This is a particularly hardy and long-living species that will grow in most conditions. It is an eye-catching specimen and great for tropical and formal planting schemes, mass planted, around a pool, and works especially well in decorative containers highlighting its sculptural form.
The sago palm is also a popular, easy-care houseplant and makes an interesting addition to nearly any room.

Take care near walkways as the foliage is quite spiky.
This species grows best in part shade areas in loamy soil with good drainage.

Soil: Loamy soil with good drainage.
Conditions: Salt and drought resistant. Can handle short periods of cold/frost down to -9C.
Size: Can grow to a height of 3 m x width 2 m.
