A delightful compact form of Polygala, Dazzler displays dark green foliage with soft oval leaves and produces attractive purple pea flowers for most of the year. Sometimes known as Dwarf Sweet Pea Shrub, Dazzler is low maintenance and quite hardy. It is a very versatile garden plant - plant it as a small hedge, or create a decorative pot for the verandah. Prune in early spring to encourage bushiness and flowering and fertilise with a long-term slow-release fertiliser.

Pittosporum eugeniodies, or Lemonwood, is a beautiful, shrub-like evergreen tree native to New Zealand. Cream-coloured, honey-scented flowers appear in spring and summer, drawing the bees and birds to the garden. The long, light green glossy leaves have a lemon scent when crushed. Mary MacKillop callistemon is a compact, lightly weeping medium shrub with glossy leaves and lettuce green new growth.
