Very popular for cut flowers, which are long-lasting in floral arrangements. Banksia oblongifolia is highly attractive to local wildlife (especially birds) and adds an interesting contrast and variety to most gardens. Pruning can keep it in better shape, and it could be amenable to bonsai. Banksias are phosphorus sensitive, so a good native fertiliser is best when it comes to feeding time.

Conditions: Full sun to part shade. Coastal, heat, wind, salt, and frost tolerant.
