Grevillea hookeriana is an attractive native shrub with an upright, medium-sized habit and deeply lobed, narrowly segmented leaves. In early spring through to summer, it produces flat, toothbrush-like, spidery flowers in shades of russet red that appear at the end of the stems. The flower colours can vary quite a lot with some being quite dark red and others almost black. It is a consistently vigorous grower and is often long-lived, making a good, long-term screen or feature in the shrubbery. Trim back after flowering as the heads can be messy.
